Personally, I am getting tired with FOX asking Governor Palin the same questions over and over.  Here Mr. Asman provided another stream of questions, which is refreshing and both FOX and Sarah got out of the same playbook. No matter what, FOX, Sarah won’t go off-script. She is very sharp and has an incredible patience to answer the same questions with the same enthusiasm as if asked for the first time. They are waiting for her to trip, go off-script or push her to answer in a way that can be misconstrued to make said topic relevant and get more news.

On the “LINsanity” basketball player: I  had to look him up to understand what is going on with that young man. I checked the stats for the past couple of games, and what I find interesting about Lin, is that he’s as devout Christian as Tim Tebow. Both praise God, Jesus, and people can’t get enough of them!

You know what I think? Jesus is using Lin as a vessel to continue with His work, while Tebow is in off-season.

The Obama administration is actively considering issuing an apology or at least an expression of contrition* to Pakistan over the errant NATO strikes that killed at least 24 Pakistani soldiers last fall, even though nearly two months have passed since the completion of an official Pentagon investigation that partially blamed mistakes made by U.S. forces for the incident, U.S. officials said.

The State Department has resurrected the idea after repudiating the U.S. ambassador to Pakistan, Cameron Munter, early on when he pressed for an immediate apology following the incident last November. A Pentagon official, asked about the possibility of a statement of apology or contrition last month, at first said he was unaware there was any discussion going on, then a few days later acknowledged that it was. Now the White House is mulling the language and timing of such a statement, a U.S. official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

*Just like Mike Huckabee said: We’re all Catholics now.

BOLLING: Governor, a lot of people are saying it can’t happen. I don’t necessarily agree with them. If one of the nominees, one of the GOPers, doesn’t get enough delegates, it could go the a brokered convention.
If it does get to that and someone said, Governor, would you be interested, would you be interested?

PALIN: Well, for one, I think that it could get to that. And I — you know, if it had to — if it had to be kind of closed up today, the whole nominating process, then we would be looking at a brokered convention.

I mean nobody is quite there yet. So I think that months from now, if that’s the case, then, you know, all bets are off as to who it will be willing to offer themselves up in the name of service to their country. I would — I would do whatever I could to help.

BOLLING: That’s — that’s fantastic.

From all the controversy that “the pill” or “the morning-after pill” revolve around candidate Santorum, there’s another method: The rythm method. This is of course, for responsible couples who do not wish nor believe that taking birth control pills is the right thing to do. It’s another lifestyle, and a harder one for people to grasp.

Not all women are comfortable with using birth control methods that involve hormones, like the birth control pill, or like the feel of using barrier contraceptives, such as the sponge. Whether for personal or religious reasons, numerous women opt for natural family planning (NFP) as their contraceptive of choice. Though not the most reliable or effective birth control around, the rhythm method is one that has long been used by women all over the world.

Check out this list of all the birth control pills. Amazing. If my count is right, it’s 96 brands that are on the market right now-and I included those that do not have a link. This list of course does not include any other of birth control method.

Note: I do NOT oppose birth control pills, because at one point I had to use them; I was quite anemic and the pill worked to get that under control. This falls in the TMI department, but I wanted to make the case that this was under medical supervision.

Here’s a list of side effects, and read below for more:

Birth Control Side Effects

Hormonal birth control pills will never be prescribed to females suffering from underlying medical conditions like liver cirrhosis, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and tumors, cancers in general and more specific of cervix or breast tissues, to those having clotting defects of any kind or those having genetic predisposition for rheumatoid arthritis etc.

Side effects are common after starting the pill as the body tries to initially adjust to increased estrogen and progesterone levels, most of these side effects transient and go away after the body recalibrates itself to the change in hormonal levels commonly observed side effects are:

• Having a constant feeling of nausea

• Morning sickness

• Irregular menstrual cycles

• Loose bowel and bloating

• Mood swings

• Palpitation

• Depression (in rare cases)

• Irregular vaginal discharges and increased susceptibility to infections as the changes in hormonal levels affect the endometrial tissue in a deleterious manner.

• Tenderness of breasts

• Loss of libido

• Hypertension and changes in the lipid profiles

• Increased fluid retention attributing on some level towards weight gain

• Decreased calcium retention in kidneys leading to bone loss and osteoporosis

• Hair and follicular changes are also seen.

Long Term Birth Control Side Effects And Risks

No clinical correlation as of yet has been observed between breast cancer and oral methods of contraception. But there are certain birth control side effects with prolonged and indiscriminate usage these include:

• Depression

• Optical problems like increased susceptibility for cataract

• Increased number of gallstones

• Cardiac failure and transient ischemic attacks in very rare cases.

• Decreased resistance towards seasonal infections.

• In females the risk of ectopic pregnancies is exponentially related to the period of usage of hormonal contraceptives.

• Increased susceptibility towards endometrial and cervical cancers because of poor nutrition and lack of hormonal balance in endometrial tissues.

• Jaundice, clotting and thrombosis on rare circumstances.

TPE note: And I can’t stress this enough!

As a note of caution always start any Hormonal Birth Control method only after due consultation with your GP or Gynecologist after carefully weighing in pro’s and con’s associated with it.

Pointing to the growing number of trouble spots, from Iran to Syria to Egypt, members of the House Armed Services Committee said any significant cuts would undermine the U.S. ability to deter aggression. The Associated Press reported on Tuesday that the administration is weighing several options for new reductions from the current treaty limit of 1,550 deployed strategic warheads.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told the committee that no decision has been made and maintaining the current level is one of the options. But that did little to assuage GOP lawmakers.

This is Obama’s version of “peace through strength,” where a nice round number (could be 1,000 to 1,100, 700 to 800, or 300 to 400!!!!) will be enough to defend this country from enemies that see this move as a permission slip to continue with their own illegal sales of weapons and the cash to buy all the materials needed to make atomic bombs. Absolutely unacceptable.

Leon Panetta scrambles to prove this move by the Obama administration and it’s unexcusable that he is A-OK with 80% weapon reduction (emphasis mine:)

Panetta said a number of options are being discussed but provided no specifics. He insisted any decision would be part of a treaty that would have to be ratified by the Senate.

“As you know, reductions that have been made, at least in this administration, have only been made as part of the START process and not outside of that process. And I would expect that that would be the same in the future,” Panetta said.

If Reid lets this fly and uses his “Obama Stamp Seal Of Approval” and the GOP in the Senate do not have the cojones to persuade their liberal Senate members, their names will be placed in a nice little list to make sure that they get voted out this November. Whatever happened to their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States?

Negotiate with Russia? Uh-huh, with their fingers crossed behind their backs. This is a tidbit of what Rush Limbaugh said this afternoon: “The last time we had 300 warheads was in the ’50s,” he said. “If we reduce to 300, we will have fewer nuclear weapons than [China.]”

Professor Dershowitz Is Right About Media Matters

Harvard University Professor Alan Dershowitz is one of the most knowledgeable and unapologetic defenders of Israel among American academics. This has unfortunately opened him to unfair and intellectually dishonest attacks from his fellow liberals.

In answering a recent attack by Max Blumenthal, formerly of Media Matters for America (MMfA), Prof. Dershowitz said , “Let me tell you, Max Blumenthal and Media Matters will be singlehandedly responsible for (Obama) losing this election. They (the Democrats) cannot win the election and keep this affiliation with them.”

I agree with Prof. Dershowitz, though obviously I think there are many, many more reasons why President Obama should lose this election (trillions, if you consider his latest budget proposal).

Prof. Dershowitz is right to draw attention to MMfA in particular.  As Big Journalism points  out: “Media Matters has been condemned by the Simon Wiesenthal Center for their continued use of an antisemitic slur ; their own allies have even thrown them  under the bus for antisemitism .”

This just shows that Americans of all political stripes are awakened to the dangers of unethical journalists and media organizations that deceive their audiences and use bullying tactics to unfairly target political opponents.
