Guy Can’t Catch A Break! Santorum On The Beach
Sometimes Drudge gets on my nerves. If Mitt Romney goes shirtless it will be a resplandescent epicness of shiny proportions that may convert Twihards into Team Mitt, and drop Edward altogether. ‘Cause he shines, he’s slick and quick, and the hair…oh don’t get me started! Twihards will camp in Tent City, Florida for the GOP convention.
Tone it down, Drudge. If Rick Santorum can take a break…

SarahPAC’s Makeover
SarahPAC has evolved from a straight-forward website with a limited goal to a full-fledged official Sarah Palin‘s interactive website. Everything for the general public is there-her Facebook posts, her tweets, email updates and of course the PAC donations. These are detailed, better broken down and my bet is that her PAC will increase due to this flexibility.
For those interested in a speech appearance, the option is there. The website design is impressive, colorful and very patriotic. Kudos to all involved in this project. GAME ON, indeed!

Last Wish For A 10-Year Old: Join The Army
This story has me on the verge of tears. I wish that this story reaches so many people around the world, who can come back to Earth and realize they got it good; that their kids are healthy and will live, long productive lives. Brennan Daigle will live for a few weeks; but he will die ARMY Strong. Mega-KUDOS to Ft. Polk‘s HQ and the Louisiana National Guard!
Since October 2009, Brennan, from Sulphur, Louisiana, has been battling embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma–a rare form of cancer in which muscular tumors attach themselves to bones, writer Rachel Reischling reports in the Fort Polk Guardian. Last month, doctors told his family there was nothing more they could do, and gave Brennan just weeks to live.
Brennan has always loved the Army. His mother had created a Facebook page–Brennan’s Brigade–to keep family and friends informed of his condition. People from around the world, including soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, have left comments of encouragement and support. One group of soldiers in Afghanistan posted a picture of themselves holding an American flag, and told Brennan: “We’re flying this flag in honor of you; we’re here to back you. Stay Army strong.”
Brennan was having the most wonderful day of his life. But it’s just getting better every minute of it:
Brennan had been told he was going fishing with his father. But when he got out of his dad’s truck, he was greeted by a formation of 1st MEB soldiers, standing at attention in front of a National Guard Humvee. After a moment, they all shouted “Happy Birthday, Brennan!,” and broke into applause.
Brennan was speechless, according to his mother. “All he could do was giggle,” she said.
Brennan and his best friend Kaleb were invited to check out the Humvee, and Brennan sat behind the wheel. Then soldiers took the two boys out for a spin. Afterward, Brennan and Kaleb put their heads out the hatch on the vehicle’s roof, while the crowd snapped pictures.
But it wasn’t over. Brennan got out of the Humvee and was led to the front of the formation, where he shook hands with each soldier. He was inducted into the Army as an honorary member, then given a coin symbolizing merit and excellence, as well as a military jacket with his name on the pocket, and other Army-themed gifts.
“Brennan, you exemplify what personal courage means,” Pfc. Kamesha Starkey, 1st MEB, told him.
Finally, the mayor of Sulphur, La., gave Brennan a key to the city, and the title of Honorary Mayor of the Day.

Unfortunately when it comes to Yahoo! stories, there’s always a bunch of crazies that trash on a story that portrays our troops’ eagerness to spend the day with Brennan (40 showed up!), or about the boy himself. That’s not what matters. What matters is that for one day, he forgot he was sick, and that he is aware that he will die.
The next day, on the way to school — Brennan still attends third grade every day — he asked his mother “Am I really in the Army?”“You most certainly are,” she said. “They don’t just swear in anyone!”
“That’s awesome,” he said.
Happy New Year 2010!
I hate New Year’s Eve. Everybody in the family knows it. I am one of the few, I confess. I don’t enjoy it unless I hop over two parties and end up on the last house close to midnight. Since there’s no partying where I live, it is utterly boring. Not to mention the insane whiff of brightness and hope for the next year, and then, a week later I find it’s the same old crap.
Nevertheless, that does not deter me from thinking of New Year resolutions, and wishes for good health, blessings, and love for America. This will be an incredible year due to elections, so it is a year many conservatives longed for ever since Barack Obama won. There is a sense that we can control history this year. That the “change we can all believe in” will come from the Right and will change the House and Senate.
I can only hope that because I feel this strongly about 2010 (read: twenty-ten) when it comes to politics, that I can look at myself in the mirror and effect a powerful change, with the same good-ol’ resolutions.
