Thank You, Angie
On Saturday I lost a good friend. One of those good friends that no matter what, she always had a positive attitude and a great outlook on life. Angie was a secretary and she always answered the phone the exact same way, no matter how she felt that day. If I answered, she let off an electric jolt and quickly asked me a ton of questions: How am I doing? How are my children doing? How’s my husband doing? I bet if I brought up the pets, she’d ask how they were doing as well. She was always concerned about my illnesses; she was an extended member of our family.
Well, that cheerful, good soul left us at 1:00 AM after a fatal stroke. I always make plans and arrangements out of my hectic schedule when I travel to go visit her at work (Angie lived outside the US). I either went by myself or brought my kids to her, because she loved my kids so much! When, where do you find a secretary that loves your kids as if they were her grandchildren? That even if I didn’t work with her nor see her, she was very caring, understanding and treat all customers with hapiness and respect?
Needless to say, it has been difficult to deal with this, and it will certainly get worse when the time comes to stop by, and look at that sign-in window, peek in and not see Angie anymore.
Angie, I want to let you know something: I love you very much; I never got the chance to tell you, but you could tell that I did because of the way you have treated all of my family. With me, distance never mattered…well, I admit we’d have had lunch together often, and go to the casino so you could teach me how to play the penny slot machines! Angie, I promise that my husband and I will go to the casino and play those penny machines, so I can think of you sitting next to us, laughing and showing me the tricks of the trade.
I feel sad that you will not watch the kids grow up, or that you will miss them on our next trip. Hopefully you will come by the office, in Spirit, all healthy and beautiful as you are so you can enjoy their growth, their achievements and their progress. I wanted to talk to you and tell you how much better I have felt recently, and to please pray for me so I keep it up and wish me luck. Now it is my turn to pray for you, thank you for your positive effect on my life, my husband’s, and the rest of my family. I bet all the patients will do the same, along with me.
Angie, will you do me a favor? Will you find my mom and give her a hug for me?
With all my love and may Jesus shines upon you,
tpe
Update: How To Obtain A Maria Rosa Mystica Statue From Germany
NOTE: Fixed the main link to Italy! Click on it to visit the official Rosa Mystica web site (Italian) below. My apologies, TPE/CathCon
Due to the demand of my readers, I need to provide this update: I CAN send icons of Maria Rosa Mystica; the problem is I am in very short supply. For my friends in India, I am amazed and love the devotion to Our Blessed Mother. So, for the record, here it goes:
1-I CANNOT SEND MY ROSA MYSTICA STATUE ANYWHERE AROUND THE WORLD. I can only pilgrim from house to house where I live. That’s the way it’s supposed to be.
2-Because I am in short demand for icons, I will take both sizes I have here and see if they can print them the same way I have them. That way I can supply icons. Please when I reach you, as soon as you can receive the icon take it to church and have it blessed. Kerala‘s YouTube videos illustrate what happens with Our Mother’s intercession.
3- I receive a bulletin via email from Montichiari and the information BELOW please write it down and place your requests THERE.
4- As of today, I have not heard nor received anything new. I guess I will press them for more items but no statues!
5- HERE IS THE INFORMATION TO OBTAIN MORE INFORMATION ABOUT MARIA ROSA MYSTICA. PLEASE ASK THEM IF THEY CAN SEND YOU A STATUE, ICONS AND OTHER MATERIALS. DONATION IS APPRECIATED. I PAID MORE THAN $200 BUT IT’S WORTH IT:
a- I receive via email a bulletin called (in Spanish) “La Voz De Rosa Mistica”-Rosa Mystica’s voice-and all the information that you will read below is in this bulletin. This is from Italy:
b- Rosa Mystica Association – Fontanelle; Via Rampina di San Giorgio, 24- Cas. Post. 134 25018 MONTICHIARI (Brescia) Italia
c- For information we ask you to contact Fontanelle’s location – Via Madonnina Tel. +39 030 964 111 Casa di Pierina – Via S. Martino della Battaglia, 155
d- E-mail: mariarosmi@katamail.com
e- info@rosamisticafontanelle.it
f- Website: http://www.rosamisticafontanelle.it
g-Bank coordinates: IBAN: IT 24 R 08676 54780 000000007722
h- c/c post. 0 07601 11200 000029691276 Poste Italiane S.p.A. – Sped. in abb. Post. – D.L. 353/2003 (conv. L. 27/02/2004 n. 46) art. 1, comma 2 /
I will personally see to it that this information will help me obtain more icons and more MRM medals and other supplies. In the meantime, I plan to take my icons to a print company and see if they can duplicate them so I can place an order and satisfy the demand. This is part of my pilgrimage, since I cannot take my statue all over the world.
If you happen to receive a Maria Rosa Mystica icon, please take it to church and have it blessed.
Thanks and I hope this helps!

Tumblr Tackles Self-Harm Blogs That Promote Suicide And Bulimia
I am totally in agreement with Tumblr on this one, and they posted their new policy on this matter. With depression and suicide on the rise, folks can turn to blogs and other websites and either express themselves in such a negative light, and promote negative behaviors or illnesses like bulimia, anorexia and bullying.
These are behaviors that I will absolutely not tolerate on The Palin Express and on CathCon. I have complete control of the blogs (meaning, YOU, wherever you are!) and got WordPress‘ back and so, in spirit of continuing a safe blog environment,
read below. If you have any comments, please drop them below.
Thanks, -TPE
A New Policy Against Self-Harm Blogs
One of the great things about Tumblr is that people use it for just about every conceivable kind of expression. People being people, though, that means that Tumblr sometimes gets used for things that are just wrong. We are deeply committed to supporting and defending our users’ freedom of speech, but we do draw some limits. As a company, we’ve decided that some specific kinds of content aren’t welcome on Tumblr. For example, we prohibit spam and identity theft.
Our Content Policy has not, until now, prohibited blogs that actively promote self-harm. These typically take the form of blogs that glorify or promote anorexia, bulimia, and other eating disorders; self-mutilation; or suicide. These are messages and points of view that we strongly oppose, and don’t want to be hosting. The question for us has been whether it’s better to (a) prohibit them, as a statement against the very ideas of self-harm that they are advancing, or (b) permit them to stay up, accompanied by a public service warning that directs readers to helplines run by organizations like the National Eating Disorders Association.
We are planning to post a new, revised Content Policy in the very near future, and we’d like to ask for input from the Tumblr community on this issue.
Here’s what we think the right answer is:
1. Implement a new policy against pro-self-harm blogs. Here’s draft language we are planning to add to our Content Policy:
Active Promotion of Self-Harm. Don’t post content that actively promotes or glorifies self-injury or self-harm. This includes content that urges or encourages readers to cut or mutilate themselves; embrace anorexia, bulimia, or other eating disorders; or commit suicide rather than, e.g., seek counseling or treatment for depression or other disorders. Online dialogue about these acts and conditions is incredibly important; this prohibition is intended to reach only those blogs that cross the line into active promotion or glorification. For example, joking that you need to starve yourself after Thanksgiving or that you wanted to kill yourself after a humiliating date is fine, but recommending techniques for self-starvation or self-mutilation is not.
We aim to begin implementing this policy next week. Of course, we will allow any affected blogs a grace period in which to edit or download your content.
2. Start showing PSAs on search results for related keywords. In addition, we plan to start posting “public service announcement”-style language whenever users search for tags that typically go along with pro-self-harm blogs. For example, when a user searches for tags like “anorexia”, “anorexic”, “bulimia”, “bulimic”, “thinspiration”, “thinspo”, “proana”, “purge”, “purging”, etc., we would show PSA language like:
Eating disorders can cause serious health problems, and at their most severe can even be life-threatening. Please contact the [resource organization] at [helpline number] or [website].
So that’s our plan. We’d like your feedback. If you have any comments or suggestions, please email them to policy@tumblr.com.

Life’s Too Short Not To Go Rogue-Sarah Palin With David Asman
Her interview with David Asman is complete, covers all the bases and straight-up from the Palin book: Clear instructions for all of our four candidates on how to handle themselves during this campaign: Don’t listen to those people who want you to say something you don’t believe in to be elected.
Click below: (Thanks to The Palin Report for the embed)
Personally, I am getting tired with FOX asking Governor Palin the same questions over and over. Here Mr. Asman provided another stream of questions, which is refreshing and both FOX and Sarah got out of the same playbook. No matter what, FOX, Sarah won’t go off-script. She is very sharp and has an incredible patience to answer the same questions with the same enthusiasm as if asked for the first time. They are waiting for her to trip, go off-script or push her to answer in a way that can be misconstrued to make said topic relevant and get more news.
On the “LINsanity” basketball player: I had to look him up to understand what is going on with that young man. I checked the stats for the past couple of games, and what I find interesting about Lin, is that he’s as devout Christian as Tim Tebow. Both praise God, Jesus, and people can’t get enough of them!
You know what I think? Jesus is using Lin as a vessel to continue with His work, while Tebow is in off-season.

The Apologizer-In-Chief May Contrite To Pakistan
Unless he plans to bow via satellite, so far a written “Sad Sam” letter will do. Maybe one of those kittens hanging for his dear life on a tree, with a “Hang In There!” cute note at the bottom.
Putz.
Via Weasel Zippers/National Journal:
The Obama administration is actively considering issuing an apology or at least an expression of contrition* to Pakistan over the errant NATO strikes that killed at least 24 Pakistani soldiers last fall, even though nearly two months have passed since the completion of an official Pentagon investigation that partially blamed mistakes made by U.S. forces for the incident, U.S. officials said.
The State Department has resurrected the idea after repudiating the U.S. ambassador to Pakistan, Cameron Munter, early on when he pressed for an immediate apology following the incident last November. A Pentagon official, asked about the possibility of a statement of apology or contrition last month, at first said he was unaware there was any discussion going on, then a few days later acknowledged that it was. Now the White House is mulling the language and timing of such a statement, a U.S. official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
