The GOP Problem: The GOP Elites

The Tea Party and conservatives are noticing one thing: They stay silent when Governor Sarah Palin gets attacked by the media. During and after the campaign, many things were said. Nowadays when it comes to the GOP “elite,” they throw cheap quotes to establish roadblocks in order to avoid any possible run for Sarah Palin in 2012.

This is politics, “my friends,” and it’s not a nicey-nice kids’ playground. Glenn Beck has done a great job covering all the smears and attacks back to the Founding Fathers. It gives us a sense of relief, but as a party coalition this is unhealthy. Bitter partisanship from within is poison that consumes the soul. In politics, each fends for themselves. The “elites” in the GOP are no different.

The Grand Old Party‘s internal war is going several steps too far. If they’re not careful, they will lose some ground in 2012; selfishness and ego are a dangerous mix combined with superiority complex. For starters, our ex-First Lady Barbara Bush revealed her true self when asked about Palin:

“I sat next to her once. Thought she was beautiful,” Barbara Bush said. “And she’s very happy in Alaska, and I hope she’ll stay there.”

Sarah Palin’s answer: Palin replied, “I don’t think the majority of Americans want to put up with the bluebloods. And I say it with all due respect—because I love the Bushes—but the bluebloods want to pick and chose their winners instead of allowing competition to pick and choose the winners.”

Give her credit to go after two First Ladies in one phone call:

  1. I was actually a big fan of Chris Christie, he slipped quite a few points when I heard that clip with Laura Ingram, as did the blue-blooded Bushes.

  2. Yeah, me too. Some conservatives thought of Christie for the rebuttal of the SOTU instead of Paul Ryan. Ryan’s great, but if he doesn’t slow downwhen he talks and keeps it simple, he won’t be able to knock off Obamanomics off the general public. I may be wrong, it’s just that I don’t want a Jindal 2.0.
